The 14-year-old pedal cyclist of Annandale, East Coast Demerara (ECD) who was struck down on the Annandale Public Road, ECD on Saturday last remains hospitalised, while the driver remains on the run.
This was confirmed by the Guyana Police Force Public Relations Officer (PRO) Royston Andries-Junor on Wednesday. Andries-Junor added that the teen is now in a stable condition.
Police said that at about 23:45h on October 31, an unknown vehicle hit the teen from behind and immediately sped away.
Reports are that the teen was riding along the inner lane of the road with a friend when the accident occurred.
The teen was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the hospital, where doctors found that his skull was fractured. He was immediately admitted as a patient in the Intensive Care Unit.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
