16 rewarded bursaries from GFF/Scotiabank academies

Sixteen budding footballers were recognised for their improved efforts with the ball and academics by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) through Scotiabank.
The simple ceremony was held at the federations secretariat on Saturday with the players who came from academy training centres from Upper Demerara, East Bank, Bartica, Essequibo, East Coast, Georgetown, Rupununi and West Demerara.

The awardees along with Scotibank’s Marketing Executive Jennifer Cipriani, GFF President Wayne Forde, FIFA Regional Director Marlon Glean and Technical Director Ian Greenwood

Technical Director of the Federation, Ian Greenwood explained their goal is to produce well-rounded players. “you have worked extremely hard at different levels but you need to continue to work and focus on the academies. We are not just looking for footballers, we are looking for good people and you must remain conscious of doing your school work,” Greenwood posited.
GFF President Wayne Forde underscored the importance of players being disciplined if they are to achieve their true potentials. Forde cautioned that many may possess immense talent but a lack of discipline cannot stall their progress to the “big stage.”
Scotia Bank Marketing Executive Jennifer Cipriani revealed they will continue to play their part in enhancing Guyana’s human resources. Cirpriani also spoke of diversifying their support for other sports in the country.
