The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) newly elected executives recently met and appointed the different Committees and Officials for 2018.
The eight-man executive, under the Chairmanship of President Hilbert Foster, appointed seven Executive Members and Members of the Discipline, Competitions, Public Relations, Finance, Cricket Development and Team Management Committees.
Foster, in welcoming the other executives, stated that their own objectives should be the development of the game, making sure that every player fulfills his/her potential and to lift the game to an all-time level.
He stated that under his leadership, no form of laziness, corruption or selfish behaviour would be tolerated and most importantly, the Executive Committee must lead by example.

The three elected Vice-Presidents were given special duties with Albert Smith in charge of Cricket Development, Jevaughn Stephens- Fund Raising, Finance and Marketing and Qualis Winter to look at the Administration.
Freelance Reporter Colin Bynoe Jnr would serve as the Berbice Cricket Board Public Relations Officer and was given the additional responsibility of setting up of a Facebook Page to inform Berbicians on the work of the Board.
Seven persons were also appointed to serve as Executive Members and they are Angela Haniff, Neil Rudder, Shabeer Baksh, Vemen Walter, Colin Bynoe, Desmond Conway and Dennis De Andrade. One full strength Selection Committee was appointed for both Junior and Senior Teams and experienced Cricket Coach Albert Smith would serve as Chairman.
The other selectors are Shabeer Baksh, Junior Blair, Collis Butts, Orvin Mangru, Julian Moore and Balram Samaroo. The Finance Committee would be headed Vice-President Jevaughn Stephens and would include Treasurer Dr. Cecil Beharry, Neil Rudder, Albert Budhoo, Ishwar Singh, Winston Roberts and Chatterpaul Lionel.
Vice-President Qualis Winter heads the Public Relations Committee and would be assisted by Neil Rudder and Orvin Lyte. Secretary Rabindranauth Saywack heads the important Cricket Competitions Committee, which would supervise the administration of the 15 cricket tournaments scheduled for the year.
Ameer Rahaman would serve as Secretary, while the remaining members are Winston Smith, Zaheer Moakan, Sydney Jackman, Kellon Henry, Patrick Lewis, N. Deonarine and Vemen Walter. The Cricket Development Committee consists of Chairman Albert Smith and includes Julian Moore, Winston Smith, Adrian Amsterdam, Andre Percival, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Tremayne Smartt, Anthony D’Andrade, Ameer Rahaman, Javed Saywack and Kwesi Maltay.
Attorney-at-Law Anrude Gossai heads the Discipline Committee and would be supported by Moses Jaipaul, Michael Newland, Jai Hardeo and Carl Ramsammy.
The BCB also established a Panel of Coaches and qualified persons who would be in charge of the different Berbice teams for 2018. The Members are Tremayne Smartt, Julian Moore, Winston Smith, Delbert Hicks, Andre Percival, Adrian Amsterdam, Travis Hardcourt, Anthony D’Andrade, Michael Newland and Kwesi Maltay.
Meanwhile, the BCB has also appointed Andre Percival and Delbert Hicks as Manager and Coach respectively of the Under-17 team, while Anthony D’Andrade and Adrian Amsterdam would serve in a similar capacity for the Under-19 side.
Winston Smith would serve as Coach of the Female team, while the name of the Manager would be revealed shortly after she has been informed. Vice-President Jevaughn Stephens would serve as Head of the Marketing/Fund Raising Committee while the other names would be announced shortly.
Secretary Rabindranauth Saywack was also mandated to spearhead planning for the upcoming BCB Award Ceremony and Cricket Academy, while President Hilbert Foster would be responsible for the BCB Television Programmes and Cricket Review Magazine, along with Public Relations Officer Colin Bynoe Jnr.
Foster would also like to urge all Berbicians to submit ideas, suggestions to him as the objective is to get everyone involved.
