Members of the Diplomatic Community including US Ambassador to Guyana, Sarah Ann Lynch; British High Commissioner to Guyana Greg Quin; and Canadian High Commissioner to Guyana, Lilian Chaterjee have walked out of the Office of the Returning Officer for Region Four (Demerara Mahaica) amid concerns over the tabulation process.
According to information, RO Clairmont Mingo, who is being represented by one of his Clerks, is using inflated Statements of Poll which do not correspond with that of other political parties.
The SOPs are in favour of the APNU/AFC coalition.
Presidential Candidate of the Liberty and Justice Party, Lenox Shuman posted on his social media page: “Elections are being rigged in front of our eyes. Votes are being stolen immediately before our eyes.”
Shuman also said, “Small Parties are seeing our very very little votes decrease by as much as 50% and 100% in some cases.”
It is also reported the ANUG have abandoned the process.
