2 in custody after Moco Moco drug bust

Two persons are now in Police custody after they were caught cultivating a marijuana farm in Moco Moco, Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo).

According to reports, the field was discovered around 3:30h when the Police were conducting a patrol.

F Division (Interior Locations) Commander Ravindradat Budhram told Guyana Times that the one-acre farm was discovered with an estimated 1000 plants reaching up to nine feet.

The plants, according to the Commander, would have amounted to 2.5 kilogrammes.

The two men were found and detained by Police and are expected to pass through the courts shortly.

However, investigations are still continuing.
