2 injured after speeding car slams into tree

Two young men were admitted patients at the Suddie Public Hospital after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a tree along the Cullen Public Road, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), on Saturday evening.
The injured men are 23-year-old Ameer Samad and 18-year-old Roria Persaud of Zorg, Essequibo Coast.

Based on information received, the accident occurred at about 23:53h on the day in question. Police stated that at the time of the accident, the car bearing registration number PRR 5427 was being driven by Samad.
He was reportedly driving at a fast rate of speed and as he was negotiating a bend, he lost control of the car and collided with a tree. The two young men were pulled from the wreckage and taken to the Suddie Public Hospital in an unconscious state.
They were subsequently treated and admitted in the male ward. Their condition is listed as stable. Police are yet to take statements from the two young men.
