Home News 2 injured following EBD 2-vehicle collision
Police have launched an investigation into an accident that occurred on Saturday evening on the Friendship Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
The accident involved motor car bearing registration number PRR 2878, driven by 29-year-old Robert Singh of Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara (WCD), and motorcycle CK 2347, ridden by Noel Drayton, 65, and pillion rider Mitzie Farley, 49, both of Great Diamond, EBD.
Based on reports received, the motorcycle was travelling in the direction of Georgetown while the motor car was heading in the opposite direction.
It is alleged that the motor car overtook several vehicles and, in the process, the driver lost control and collided with the front of the said motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle and the pillion rider fell onto the road’s surface where they sustained injuries to their bodies.
They were taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where they were treated and later referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. They were subsequently admitted as patients. The driver of the car was arrested as Police continue their investigations.
