FFTP donates over 1000 pieces of furniture to Education Ministry

The Education Ministry on Monday received over 1000 pieces of furniture from Food For The Poor (Guyana) Inc (FFTP) to be distributed to schools across Guyana to benefit students and teachers.

In total, 41 bookcases, 762 chairs, 461 student desks, 12 teacher desks, 34 file cabinets, 61 tables and one storage cabinet were handed over.
Education Minister Priya Manickchand in accepting the donation said that the two entities should highlight priority areas to make the established partnership even more meaningful.
Chief Executive Officer of FFTP, Kent Vincent said that he looks forward to continued collaboration between the organisation and the Ministry of Education to make the lives of both learners and teachers better.
The items will be stored at the Education Ministry’s Book Distribution Unit (BDU) until they are ready to be distributed to the schools.
