26 athletes qualify for Inter-Guiana Games after AAG trials

The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) has identified 26 athletes who qualified for the upcoming Inter-Guiana Games (IGG), following trials held on Saturday, September 26.
The list comprises 13 girls and 13 boys who earned places across the sprint, middle, long-distance, jumping and throwing events. Several athletes qualified in two disciplines, giving Guyana options across a wide range of events.
In the girls’ sprint events, Tesianna Harris and Tierra Lekha qualified in both the 100 metres and 200m, while Alyse Jacobs and Ronessa Johnson secured places in the 400m.
Kunusasha Medas-King and Adanya Glenn qualified in both the 800m and 1500m, while Esther McKinnon and Areana Bart earned qualification in the 3000m.
Guyana will also have representation across the girls’ field events. Tasianna Benjamin qualified in the shot put, while Shanea Moore earned places in both the shot put and discus. Christina Lindor qualified in the javelin, with Esther Blair and Russheeda Hartley both qualifying in the high jump and long jump.

Michael Browne qualified in the 100m and 200m

Among the boys, Michael Browne qualified in the 100m and 200m, while Ezekiel Millington earned a spot in the 100m. Ade Sealey qualified in the 200m and 400m, with Alvin Richmond also securing qualification in the 400m.
Jonathon Bristol qualified in both the 800m and 1500m, while Jadel Liverpool earned a place in the 1500m. Ebo McNeil qualified in the 1500m and 5000m, while Timothy Smith will also contest the 5000m.
The boys’ field event qualifiers include David Williams in the long jump and triple jump, Nathalie Samaroo in the shot put and javelin, Keimal Gishard in the high jump, Michael Kyte in the triple jump, and Akeem Barnes in the shot put and discus.
The qualifiers will now make up Guyana’s athletics representation for the Inter-Guiana Games scheduled for October 22-26, 2026 in Paramaribo, Suriname.
