Three persons, including a man and his reputed wife, were arrested late Friday evening and Saturday with large quantities of marijuana.
In the first instance, a West Ruimveldt, Georgetown man, who was under Police radar for quite some time, was nabbed in Port Kaituma, North West District on Saturday with almost 1.4 kilograms of marijuana stashed in the cabin of a vessel he was operating.

The 23-year-old man, who is an employee of a public transportation agency, had the illegal substance wrapped and taped in three parcels. The discovery was made at about 13:30h when the Police swooped down on the vessel.
Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man and his 18-year-old reputed wife were on Friday evening arrested after Police conducted a search on their home at Mocomoco village, Lethem and unearthed three kilograms of cannabis.
Based on reports received, Police ranks acting on information went to the home at about 18:30h and requested to conduct a search, during which the illegal substance was found in a salt bag. The trio is expected to be charged in the new week.
