3 in custody after Police operations unearth ganja, suspected stolen items
Three persons were arrested after ganja and suspected stolen items were found in their possession during three separate Police operations on Wednesday.

Based on reports received, the operations were conducted between 17:30h and 20:40h in the Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice area.

At the first two locations, nothing illegal was unearthed, but two men, a 20-year-old and a 34-year-old, were arrested pending additional investigations.

At the third location, the Police found one transparent plastic bottle with 55 small ziplock bags containing ganja, one HP laptop computer, one Black ZTE cellphone, one flash drive, a quantity of electrical appliances, and an undisclosed sum of cash.
All the items found were seized and a 35-year-old man was arrested pending charges. These operations by the Police are conducted quite regularly as they search for illegal firearms and ammunition, narcotics, and stolen articles.
