3 injured in motorcycle collision on EBD

A 22-year-old motorcyclist along with another male motorcyclist and his female pillion rider are patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after they were in an accident at Industrial Site, Ruimveldt, Greater Georgetown.

Reports are that the accident occurred shortly after 18:00h when both motorcyclists were heading in the Southern direction on the Eastern side of the East Bank Demerara (EBD) Public Road.
One of the injured motorcyclists, 22-year-old Mark Ramnauth, was at the accident scene lying on the road for some 25 minutes awaiting an ambulance to arrive to transport him to the hospital.
When this publication arrived at the scene, two ambulances were removing the other two injured persons from the roadway but Ramnauth had to wait until one returned to take him for medical attention.
Although he was in a great deal of pain, he told this publication that he was heading home when the incident occurred.
The young man, who lives on the West Coast of Demerara (WCD), stated that he was proceeding along the roadway when the other motorcyclist slammed into him, resulting in them pitching off their motorbikes.
The female pillion rider, who was on the other motorcycle, was also flung off and is said to have suffered the most injuries. Police have since launched an investigation.
