A Police Officer has come in for high praise for his bravery after he arrested three suspicious men, one of whom was found with an illegal firearm.

Reports reaching Guyana Times revealed that the officer, who was in plain-clothes at the time, observed four persons on bicycles in Queenstown, Georgetown, about 23:00h on Monday acting in a suspicious manner. He intercepted them, however, one person was able to escape.
A search was then conducted on the three apprehended suspects during which an unlicensed Magnum pistol with seven live rounds was found in the possession of one of them.
The three suspects, all of whom reside in Sophia, Greater Georgetown, were subsequently taken into custody. They are currently being questioned in relation to several armed robberies.
