A man accused of being in the company of another who snatched a cellular phone, was charged and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Magistrate, Annette Singh.
Daniel Gomes, 20, of Lot 1938 Hummingbird Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, denied the charge when it was read to him.
It is alleged that on December 28, 2016 at Regent and Bourda Streets, Georgetown, and while being in the company of others, he robbed Avinash Persuad of one Samsung phone valued $50,000 and $2000 in cash.
Police Prosecutor Simmons told the Court that he had no objections to bail as the items were all recovered.
Bail was granted at $50,000 and the defendant is to return to Court on January 13.
