4 busted with cocaine, ganja during Police raid

Four persons have been taken into custody following the discovery of a quantity of cocaine and marijuana during a Police operation at Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Based on reports received, a search was conducted on two homes during which one red plastic bag with ten transparent Ziplock bags containing ganja was discovered. Following the discovery, two men were told of the offence, cautioned and arrested but both men denied knowledge of the drugs.
In addition, the Police went to another home and during the search, one white plate with a black plastic bag containing a whitish rock-like substance, suspected to be cocaine, was found in the backyard. Two men were at the premises at the time and as such they were questioned.
One of the suspects reportedly told Police that the drug was a “side hustle”.
The four men were taken to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters where the cocaine was weighed in their presence and amounted to 4 grams. The cannabis was also weighed and amounted to 17 grams. Charges are expected to be instituted shortly.
