The scholarships cover tuition, travel and living expenses through CPGL’s partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources. Under the programme, recipients are expected to return to Guyana upon completing their studies and contribute to the country’s growing petroleum industry.
Addressing the ceremony, Natural Resources Minister Vickram Bharrat encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunity.
CPGL President Lian Jihong also addressed the gathering, emphasising the company’s commitment to supporting education, technical training and the development of a skilled Guyanese workforce. China’s Ambassador to Guyana, Yang Yang, also delivered remarks.
The four students are the fourth batch of scholarship recipients since the initiative was launched in 2023 as part of CPGL’s investment in developing local talent for Guyana’s expanding oil and gas sector.
