Four men are now in Police custody after they were nabbed with illegal guns and ammunition along the Ituni Public Road, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) on Friday.

Based on reports received, Police ranks acting on information intercepted a vehicle at Ituni with four occupants including the driver. A search was conducted during which a .22 Smith and Wesson pistol; a Glock 19 pistol; ten (10) live .22 ammunition and a magazine with twenty (20) live 9mm ammunition were unearthed.
The suspects, who hail from Grove on the East Bank of Demerara, Tuschen Housing Scheme on the East Bank of Essequibo and Bamia on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway, were arrested.
They are assisting with investigations but charges are expected to be laid shortly.
