4 seriously injured in BV accident

Four persons are seriously injured following an early morning collision on Friday at Beterverwagting (BV), East Coast Demerara (ECD).

The motor car which slammed into the minibus

The incident occurred at about 07:00h on the BV Public Road, opposite to the BV Police Station. Reports revealed that the accident involved a Toyota Allion, which bore the license plate PWW 7216 and a Route 44 minibus, BLL 6809.
This publication understands that the driver of the motor car, who hails from Victoria, ECD, was pinned in the vehicle. However, first responders arrived at the scene a few minutes later, and he was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he is currently hospitalised.
Meanwhile, the driver of the minibus, who also received minor injuries, said that he was attempting to make a turn into the BV main access road when the speeding car emerged from behind a truck and slammed into his bus.
Due to the impact of collision, the car was flung onto the northern parapet of the roadway. Investigations are going.
