4 teams chase EDFA U13 title on final day

The East Demerara Football Association (EDFA), in collaboration with the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), will bring the curtain down on its highly competitive Youth Ensemble Under-13 League this weekend, with the championship still up for grabs.
All five final-round matches will be played on Saturday at the Buxton Ground, where the title race promises an exciting finish.
Buxton Stars and Plaisance Football Club (FC) enter the final day locked on 17 points after eight matches, but Buxton Stars occupy the top spot courtesy of a vastly superior goal difference of +22 compared to Plaisance’s +7.
Melanie FC remain firmly in contention on 16 points, just one point adrift of the leaders, while Golden Stars FC sit fourth with 15 points and an outside chance of lifting the title.

Buxton Stars goal scorers from the last round

With only two points separating the top four teams, the final round is expected to produce a dramatic conclusion to the competition.
Buxton Stars have been the most prolific attacking side in the league, scoring 26 goals while conceding only four. Plaisance FC have also impressed with a solid defensive record, conceding just four goals throughout the campaign.
Melanie FC remain unbeaten with four wins and four draws, while Golden Stars have shown resilience after winning four matches despite suffering one defeat.
Further down the standings, Victoria Kings FC and Mahaica Determinators are tied on 11 points and will be looking to finish the season on a high. BV/Triumph United have accumulated eight points, Haslington Stars have six, Ann’s Grove United five, while Mahaicony Western Lions will be aiming to secure their first victory after collecting a single point from eight outings.
The spotlight will undoubtedly be on the title contenders, with Buxton Stars needing a victory over Mahaica Determinators to guarantee the championship regardless of other results. However, any slip-up could open the door for Plaisance, Melanie or Golden Stars to snatch the coveted Under-13 title.
With the championship race set to go down to the wire, football fans can expect an entertaining day of youth football as the EDFA/GFF Youth Ensemble Under-13 League reaches its thrilling conclusion at the Buxton Ground.
