Six Cuban nationals were on Thursday each fined and their deportation was ordered for entering Guyana without presenting themselves to an Immigration Officer before departing.
Charged are Danne Gonzalez Ramirez, 23; Cesar Lazaro Suarez Echarte, 40; Yoandro Castillo Rojas, 49; Leidi Rosa Rodriguez Hernandez, 26; Hachet Pimienta Simon, 23; and Masiel Montoya Simon, 26. They were charged under Section 10(3) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 14:02.
The six accused appeared before Magistrate Nikkisha Logan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to them. They all pleaded guilty and were each fined $20,000, and a deportation order was also issued.
Only on Friday last, five Brazilian nationals were fined 30,000 each and their deportation was ordered after they pleaded guilty to the offence of illegal entry.
Fabricio Braga Tomza, 24; Daniel Dos Santos Reis, 23; Cleocione Ferreira de Souza, 44; Edimar Dos Santos Chaves, 40; and Geovanny Nogueira Ferreira, 23, all from Boa Vista, Brazil, were arrested and charged with the offence. They were charged with entering Guyana by crossing a land frontier and failing to promptly present themselves to the nearest Immigration Officer.
Back in April, two Brazilian nationals of Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil, who were arrested and charged with the offence of Illegal Entry, were also fined and deported.
