A six-year-old Chinese child died on Wednesday afternoon after sustaining a chop wound to his neck during an incident at Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
Dead is ZiFeng Cao.

Police said initial enquiries revealed that at about 15:45h, the child sustained the injury during an incident involving a male Chinese national.
Cao was taken to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect was subsequently arrested and remains in Police custody as investigations continue.
Following the incident, Human Services and Social Security Minister Dr Vindhya Persaud visited Cao’s family at the Ezekiel Funeral Home on Wednesday evening.
According to a post by the Human Services and Social Security Ministry, Persaud expressed condolences to the child’s parents and family as they cope with the loss.
The Minister also assured the family that the Ministry stands ready to provide the necessary support and assistance during the difficult period.
Persaud was accompanied by Director of the Childcare and Protection Agency, Levine Gouveia.
