6th Edition of Mashramani Street Football set for February 18
The National Park will be filled with exhilarating football as the Sixth Edition of the Mashramani Street Football Championship is set to kick off on Sunday, February 18, in what is expected to be a jampacked tournament.
The Tournament despite being for one day only will feature 16 teams in a knockout contest; with Sparta Boss, Gold is Money, Bent Street, Stabroek ballers, Team Cruel, Five-O, Family, North East La Penitence being among the teams to participate.
At the launch ceremony, Organiser of the Tournament, Edison Jefford stressed on the emphasis that is being placed on punctuality.

“We would like to be on time and I’m stressing time throughout with teams, we have met with them, we’ve issued their invitations formally and one of the things that we have identified is that once you are not there when your game is blown; a walkover will be immediately issued,” Jefford said.
Also speaking at the launch ceremony were representatives from the sponsors as they detailed the importance of their contribution towards this tournament.
The winner of the tournament will receive bragging rights for years while taking home $1 million in prize monies. Second, third, and fourth place will receive $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 respectively.
