77 conferred with national awards

…GECOM Commissioner bestowed with Golden Arrow of Achievement

As Guyana celebrates its 49th Republic anniversary, President David Granger has conferred 77 persons with national awards. Heading the list of awardees for the Golden Arrow of Achievement is APNU’s Commissioner on the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Vincent Alexander.
Several Guyanese diplomats were conferred with the Cacique Crown of Honour. These are Guyana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Frederick Hamley Case; Charles John Ethelwood Fung-A-Fatt, SC, Ambassador David Thomas Allan Hales, Guyana’s Ambassador to the US, Sheik Riyad David Insanally; Guyana’s Ambassador to Cuba, Abdool Halim Majeed, and Monsignor Terrence Montrose.
The other would have been conferred with the Golden Arrow of Achievement, the Medal of Service, the Military Service Medal and the Disciplinary Service Medal.

President Granger and members of the Advisory Council for the Orders of Guyana offer sincere congratulations to the 77 persons who have been honoured. The national awardees will receive their medals at an investiture ceremony later in the year.
