93-year-old found dead in Cummings Lodge home

The East Coast Demerara community of Cummings Lodge, was plunged into a state of mourning on Thursday at about 16:10h after the motionless body of a 93-year-old man was found at his home.
Police Divisional Commander Simon McBean has confirmed that man’s identity as Carlton King of Lot 845 Third Field, Cummings Lodge, ECD.
According to reports received, the late Carlton King had lived alone in an unfinished one-flat concrete structure. According to a neighbour, the motionless body of the elderly man was discovered lying in front of his door, which was partially open.
The slightly decomposed body was examined by the Police, and no marks of violence were seen on its exposed parts. Foul play is not suspected.
The body has been escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home to await a post mortem.
A few weeks ago, a cousin of 60-year-old Roystan Lam had stumbled upon his partially decomposed remains. It was reported that Lam, of Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was found at his home. Lam had lived alone in a one-storey wooden structure.
The man’s cousin had reported that he visited Lam’s residence and made several calls, but got no answer. Upon making checks, he detected a foul smell emanating from the house.
The Police were immediately summoned, and when they investigated, Lam’s decomposing body was found lying on his back. Lam’s home had not been ransacked, and no foul play was suspected.
