Twenty-three-year-old Fidel Charles of Warapoka Village, North West District (NWD), was granted bail by Magistrate Crystal Lambert when he appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Friday for gun possession.
Charles was arrested on May 30, 2023, following the discovery of a firearm and matching ammunition.
During the court session, Charles pleaded not guilty to the offence of possession of firearm and ammunition without being the holder of a firearm and ammunition licence.
Police stated that upon his arrest, Charles had a 12-gauge shotgun and two live 12-gauge cartridges in his possession. However, in court on Friday, he was granted bail in the sum of $400,000.
