Agricola man granted $400,000 bail on car theft charge

A resident of Agricola, Greater Georgetown, was on Monday granted 0,000 bail when he appeared in court for reportedly stealing a woman’s vehicle.

Donald Alson, 31, of 167 Titus Street, Agricola, was brought to stand before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that he stole a 192 Corona car with registration number PMM 6243 from a residence in Kitty, which belongs to Catherina Bristol.

According to the prosecution’s facts, the bus conductor stole the car from the woman’s premises around 15:00h on the day in question.

The court heard that the Virtual Complainant (VC) secured the vehicle, but the following day, she noticed that the car was missing. A report was made and the defendant was arrested. The prosecution also claimed that Alson later admitted to stealing the car and stripping it.

Alson will return to court on June 12, 2017.
