Albion to “come alive” for Lotto/Let’sBet T10 Tapeball finals on August 9

The passion and energy of Guyanese Tapeball cricket will take centre stage as the ancient county of Berbice prepares to bowl off the fourth season of the Lotto/Let’sBet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast.
Organisers are predicting non-stop, rollicking action when the top 16 teams from Berbice battle for zonal supremacy from August 8 to 9, 2026, culminating in a massive finals night at the Albion Sports Complex on August 9 starting from 14:00h.
Opening day matches, from 10:00h on Saturday, August 8, will be spread across four key locations in the county: the Albion Sports Complex, No. 69 Ground, Port Mourant Ground, and the Welfare Ground in Canje.
Action then shifts exclusively to the Albion Sports Complex on Sunday, August 9, where the ultimate Berbice Zonal Champions will be crowned under the lights. Admission is completely free to the public for all matches across every venue.
Tournament Director John Ramsingh confirmed that registration officially closed on July 31 for the Berbice zone, and officials are currently working behind the scenes to verify player eligibility and finalise the publishing of squad rosters and the random draw of fixtures.

Fans can expect thrilling action as teams go all-out for the GY$500,000 zonal first prize, which gives them a chance to compete for an even bigger GY$2,000,000 national purse at Anna Regina on October 11.” He said.
In a significant departure from traditional knockout formats where early exits yield no financial return, the 2026 edition guarantees cash rewards for sides making deep runs into the zonal stages.
Losing quarter-finalists in each zone will pocket GY$25,000, while losing semi-finalists take home GY$50,000.
The stakes rise sharply from there, as defeated zonal finalists earn GY$200,000, and the regional champions bank a cool GY$500,000 purse before even stepping into the national bracket.
The ultimate jackpot awaits in the national playoffs, where the crowned champions will walk away with a massive GY$2,000,000 first-prize purse.
The national runners-up will secure GY$1,000,000, while both losing semi-finalists will be rewarded with GY$500,000 each.
Following the Berbice curtain-raiser, the tournament caravan heads to East Bank/West Demerara on August 15–16 before moving to the Essequibo Zone on August 22–23.
The competition will then take a brief hiatus to accommodate the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League, before resuming with the powerhouse Georgetown/East Coast Demerara leg across two weekends on September 26–27 and October 3–4.
In a landmark move for the tournament, the national grand finale on October 11, 2026, will head to the Anna Regina National Stadium in Region Two, bringing the ultimate showdown of Guyanese Tapeball cricket directly to Essequibo for the very first time.
