Golyn & Sons 10/10 Softball…

The latest round in the Golyn and Sons 10/10 softball cricket tournament organised by the Guyana Softball League (GSL) and sponsored by Trophy Stall and Miss Love Trading saw some scintillating cricket in all departments.

Unstoppable pounded Prem XI into submission by 10 wickets

Prem XI took first strike and rattled up a challenging 70 all out in 10 overs with Premendra Arjune looking in good touch being the only one to offer some resistance with 18 (2x6s) off 20 balls. He was going at a good run rate but seemed to lose concentration and was caught on the long off boundary going for another big shot.

Asif Mustapha with 4-14 rattled the batting. Unstoppable, knowing that batting is their strength then chased beautifully to reach 76 without loss. Lincoln Leander  who looked solid and positive in his stroke play capped a good all round match performance with a blistering 44 not out laced with 3 sixes and 3 fours and  Recardo Mc Allister 23 not out (3x6s) confirmed that Unstoppable XI were unstoppable.

Ruimzeight XI got back into winning ways by defeating Superbet XI by 10 wickets

 Superbet XI batted first and scored 56-6 in 10 overs with Chaitram Nauth, 21 anchoring the innings. Ruimzeight XI replied with 59-0 in 6.2 overs to clinch victory. Dukraj Singh clobbered 28 not out (4x6s) off 13 balls and with Support from Indar Dhukie 24 (3x6s) that saw their team through.

Amazon Warriors shocked Marachs XI by 6 wickets

The over confident Marachs XI took first strike and scored 96-6 in 10 overs with Feroze Rahaman taking 2-9 in 2 overs and Irfan Hack 2-14 in 2 overs. In reply Amazon Warriors XI reached 98-4 in 7.3 overs for a clinical run chase and victory by six wickets.

Arjune Ajmal  started to play shots to all parts with 56 (3x4s;6x6s) off 23 balls to put them back on track with the lower half being guided by Skipper Imran Hack with 13.

Mighty Lions XI defeated West Siderz Furniture Store

West Siderz Furniture Store won the toss and struggled to a paltry 46 all out in 6.1 overs with Yogendra Singh scoring 14 (2x6s) off 20 balls. Doodnauth Seechan 4-10 did most of the damage with the ball.

In their turn, Mighty Lion XI replied with 51-5 in 5.1 overs Manoj Persaud blazing away to a top score of 21 (3x6s) to achieve victory for his team. Abid Haniff took 3-11 off 2 overs.

 West Siderz Furniture Store defeated Power XI in a thriller

Power XI won the toss and batted scoring a challenging 122-5 in 10 overs with Gershom Sookmangal scoring 39 (1×4; 4x6s) off 29 balls and Ravi Laldeo 26 (3x6s). Anil Singh with 2-5 was the best West Siderz Furniture Store bowler.

In the run chase, West Siderz Furniture Store reached 124-6 in 8.5 overs with Robin Singh making 39 (5x6s) and Anil Singh 20 (3x6s). Jai Chakravarti took 2-12 off 2 overs and Gershom Sookmangal 2-12.
