Residents of Durbana Square, Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown were left in shock on Tuesday after an attorney whom they had seen just a few days ago, and who had seemed to be in good health, was found dead in his home.
Dead is 77-year-old Hubert Nathaniel Rodney, who had last been seen taking out his garbage on Friday. He was the brother of prominent Guyanese historian and political activist Dr Walter Rodney.
Neighbours have said they realised something was amiss after a stench began emanating from the man’s residence. As a result, an alarm was raised and the Police were called. The Police went into Rodney’s home, and discovered him lying motionless on the kitchen floor. His body was checked for marks of violence, but none was seen.
Rodney’s body has been taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour to await a Post Mortem Examination. (G9)
