Since 2014 Robin Bacchus has failed to impress the selectors thus he has been left out of the national squad.
Selected for the first time two years ago, the exciting left handed batsman was offered one game against Jamaica, where he scored just six runs in his lone innings to date in the Regional 50 over tournament.
Subsequently his performance has fluctuated but he is currently an academy player contracted by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB).
He is set to participate in the 50 over segment of the Jaguars League set to start on December 22 and in this event he plans to score big since he believe he is well prepared.
“You know one day cricket is mostly my thing so I’m mostly looking forward to it….preparation for this League has been going well, we have about seven games to play and I am looking to score more than 500 runs in the tournament.”, the cricketer stated.
Over the years the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) player is known for wasting good starts, with rash shots, a major cause for his demise, however, he thinks he is now a more mature player.
He expressed that “Definitely I think I have mature as a player. I’ve been working on my main aspect of development, like being a bit more patient…the things that could really carry you through and assist in the long run.”
The former St. Joseph High School student, now 27, will play for Georgetown when the Franchise league tournament commences next week.
