Bandits storm Massy Inc, escape with gas cylinders

At least six bandits, two of whom were armed with guns and four with cutlasses, executed a daring robbery at Massy Gas Products located at Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD), on Saturday evening.
The men managed to steal 10 gas cylinders before making good their escape.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 20:00h after the men allegedly cut a hole in the back fence of the establishment.
At the time of the incident, an unarmed female security guard was facing the main entrance of the building when the suspects invaded the premises.
Two of the bandits held the woman at gunpoint and relieved her of her radio set.
Meanwhile, the other four bandits carried 10 cylinders out of the compound through the hole in the fence. The men then made good their escape over the canal that was opposite the compound.
This publication understands that while the female guard was held hostage, other security measures were in place but were not activated.
After the men left the premises, the female guard managed to alert others.
The police have launched an investigation into the robbery.
