Banks’ Enchanted Christmas Village opens

The parking area opposite the Banks DIH Thirst Park complex was transformed into a miniature Christmas Village shrouded in a unique atmosphere, with thousands of lights, delicious goodies, and presents on offer.
The two-day festive holiday event, which was opened to the public on Saturday, included a visit by Santa Clause as well as seasonal musical entertainment to add to the festive spirit of the season.
According to coordinator and manager of the Igloo ice cream brand, Kester Van-Nooten, it is the second year that the company had been hosting the Santa Enchanted Village, and some 1000 children have been catered for.
“Banks is very pleased to give back to the community, so we have invited the kids out here to come and take part in the village, and also get a chance to meet Santa and receive a gift”, he explained.

Van Nooten noted that events like these certainly add a special flair to the Christmas season, and create the atmosphere for Guyanese to enjoy their favourite Christmas delicacies, traditionally sought after during this time of the year.
More importantly, a wholesome environment is created for family and friends to gather.
All are invited to gather at Banks for a spectacular presentation of cultural performances, carolling, and interesting displays depicting the tastes, infusions, creations and colours of the true Guyanese Christmas.
Guyanese are being urged to come out in their numbers to participate in this annual event.
