Tonight’s matches are elimination affairs in which the respective winners will advance to the group stage, pegged for June 15th. The subsequent winners will then play in the semi-final matches from which the winners will progress to the finals, with the losers facing off in the third place playoff.
Similarly, the four teams that fail to make the semi-final stage will battle in the Guinness Plate Championship slated for the final night.
The winners of the championships will pocket $400,000 and the winner’s trophy, as well as earn the right to represent the zone at the National Championships. The runners-up will collect $150,000 and a trophy, while the third and fourth place finishers will walk away with $100,000 and $75,000 respectively, together with trophies.
