Amsterdam Century highlights the BCB U-16 tournament

Rose Hall Canje batsman Luke Amsterdam slammed a dominant century against East Bank Blazers in the Berbice Cricket Board Under-16 tournament.
Amsterdam’s century and Gautam Dhanraj’s ten-wicket match haul saw the Blazers being bowled out for 20 and 18 across both innings at Rose Hall Canje Community Centre Ground over the weekend.

Luke Amsterdam slammed a century for Rose Hall Canje

The match started at 13:00h due to overnight rainfall, and Dhanraj wreaked havoc with 6-11 as the Blazers folded for 20. Dhanraj was supported by Ezekiel Liverpool, who had 4-5.
In response, Rose Hall Canje Under-16s posted 193-2 declared. Amsterdam was unbeaten on 102, while Aaron Singh scored 28 not out. Donovan Newland chipped in with 22, while Aarush Hemraj scored 19. Glen Gittens and Kushal Kisten had one wicket each for the Blazers.
In their second innings, the batting meltdown continued for East Bank Blazers, who managed only 18 all out.
Gautam Dhanraj returned 4-9, while Brandon Grimmond had 3-3. Shameer Alli had 2-0, and Ravindra Persaud had 1-5 in a complete demolition job from Rose Hall Canje, who won by an innings and 155 runs.
In another fixture at Mount Sinai Ground, Tucber Park whipped the home team by an innings and 61 runs.
Mount Sinai, after losing the toss and being asked to take first strike, crumbled to 74 all out.
Medium pacer and Berbice Under-13 all-rounder Lemuel DeJonge was the main wicket-taker with 4-15, while Niquan Fraser had 2-12, Ashton DeJonge 2-2, and Adriel Samuel 1-6.
In reply, Tucker Park declared their first innings on 171-5. Opening batsman Ryan McPherson led all batters with a polished 63. He received support from Lemuel DeJonge, who made 27, and Dequan Lewis, who scored 15.
In their second innings, facing a deficit of 97, Mount Sinai were rattled out for 36. For Tucber, opening fast bowlers Kelvin Henry and Jeremiah Fraser bowled with good pace and control to register five-fors each. Henry finished with 5-18, and Fraser 5-16.
