Eccles, Rams, Airport, Mahdia storm into Lotto/Let’sBet T10 semi-finals

Defending zone champions Eccles All-Stars, Village Rams, Airport SVC, and Mahdia (Movements Family) surged into the final four of the East Bank/West Demerara Zone in the Lotto/Let’sBet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast following a day of blistering knockout action across the region.
At Goed Fortuin, Village Rams delivered a sublime performance, powering into the semi-finals with a comprehensive 73-run victory over Team Eastsyde.
Imtyaz Ghani set the ground ablaze with a swashbuckling 85 off just 23 balls, supported by Andrew Lyght Jr’s unbeaten 42 off 27 and Urshardeva Balgobin’s 20, as Rams posted 159 for three.
In reply, Team Eastsyde folded to 87 for eight in their 10 overs, with national footballer Curtez Kellman showcasing his versatility by taking three for seven, alongside Dhanesh Persaud’s two for 13.

The defeat ended a dramatic campaign for Eastsyde, whose opener Otis George had earlier smashed an unbeaten 106 off 38 balls – laced with 13 sixes and two fours – alongside Ronald Hercules’ 25-ball 76 in an opening stand of 193 for 0 against Vintage All-Stars.
Eccles All-Stars were equally ruthless at Farm Ground, hammering Soesdyke XI by 120 runs. Troy Gonsalves launched eight sixes in a rapid 25-ball 64 to propel Eccles to 162 for nine despite Orandy King’s four for 30.
Soesdyke’s chase crumbled instantly as Tyler Small’s clinical spell of four for five and Deion Thomas’ two for 13 bundled them out for just 42 in 9.5 overs, with number 11 Adrian Peters (13) the sole batter in double figures.
At Uitvlugt Ground, Mahdia made light work of Hyde Park, chasing down 98 in 7.2 overs with eight wickets to spare. Andrew Gibson anchored the pursuit with an unbeaten 46 off 21 balls alongside Yeudistir Persaud (17*), after Suresh Dhani’s economical one for three kept Hyde Park to 97 for four.
Over at MMZ, Airport SVC held off Young Steppaz by 27 runs. Player of the match Shakiel Wong headlined the effort, slamming 46 off 20 balls to lift Airport to 138 for three, before returning to claim three for 19 alongside Sunil Sarjoo’s three for 21, to restrict Young Steppaz to 111 for nine.
The action shifts directly into the semi-finals today at Meten-Meer-Zorg, where Eccles meet Village Rams at 10:00h, followed by Airport taking on Mahdia at 12:00h, preceding the zonal final at 15:00h.
The zone champions will confirm their marquee date against the Berbice Zone champions, Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars, at the national semi-finals.
The regional runners-up will pocket GY$200,000 courtesy of MS Roshandin Group of Companies, while the two losing semi-finalists take home GY$50,000 each, in the name of Camille’s Academy.

High stakes await the eventual zonal champion, who will walk away with GY$500,000 and secure a marquee fixture against Berbice Zone champions Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars at the national semi-finals.
With free public admission across all venues, the zone winners remain in contention for the grand GY$2 million prize at the National Finals on October 11 at the Anna Regina National Stadium, before the T10 caravan moves to the Essequibo Zone from August 22–23.
