Arrested: Ramlall Ramdihal

Ramlall Ramdihal, called ‘Jack’, a 38-year-old field supervisor who resides at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice, is now in Police custody following the discovery of 41.768kg (92 pounds) of cannabis in his car.
Reports are that Police intercepted motorcar PVV 1495, which was parked on the southern side of the Now-or-Never Public Road at Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, at about 20:30h on Thursday, and Ramdihal was found alone in the vehicle.

When questioned, he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for his presence at that location, and this
resulted in his vehicle being searched and three bulky white salt bags being discovered in the trunk of the car. Each bag, upon inspection, was found to contain parcels wrapped with cannabis. Together the bags had 15 parcels of cannabis.
During interrogation, Ramdihal allegedly claimed that he was instructed to pick up the bags from #30 Village and transport them to Georgetown, where he would have been compensated. However, he allegedly refused to divulge the identity of the individual who had hired him.
Ramdihal was taken, along with the confiscated narcotics and the motorcar, to the Mahaicony Police Station, where the parcels were weighed and amounted to 41.768kg. He remains in custody pending charges. (G9)
