The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) would be hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Sunday December 22, at its offices at Charlotte Street, New Amsterdam from 11:00h.
Thirty-eight delegates from 13 clubs and three sub-associations would meet, under the chairmanship of BCB President Hilbert Foster, to discuss the affairs of Guyana’s most vibrant cricket board during 2019, and discuss reports from the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Competitions Committee.
Following the AGM, the BCB would hold crucial elections for the positions of President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 3rd Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
Current BCB President Hilbert Foster has indicated that he would be seeking re-election, after successfully transforming Berbice Cricket over the last 22 months. He assumed control of that entity when it had just
$42,000 in its name, no tournament had been played in two years, and there was no developmental programme in place.
The current administration of the BCB has organized in excess of 60 tournaments at different levels, raised more than $20 million in cash and kind, and has organised dozens of developmental programmes/projects.
The clubs that would be voting at this BCB AGM are: Kildonan, Whim, Port Mourant, RHTY&SC, Albion, Chesney, Young Warriors, Rose Hall Canje, Mental Hospital, Mt. Sinai, Guymine, Blairmont and Police. The three sub-associations are Upper Corentyne, West Berbice and Berbice River.
Delegates from the clubs are reminded that they must be seated by 10.45h after registering their presence.
