The Bush Lot Cricket Ground on the West Coast of Berbice on Sunday, March 3 would come alive when arch-rivals Rose Hall Town Pepsi and the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club clash in the final of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)-organised Dior’s Bits and Pieces Under-23 tournament.
The match is expected to be a thriller with several of the county’s top players being involved. The venue was chosen after discussions with the sponsor, Miss Sandy Ross, owner of the Dior’s Bits and Pieces Boutique. The tournament started last year with over 20 teams drawn from across the county. Albion defeated Tucber Park Cricket Club by four wickets in the first semi-final while Rose Hall Town Pepsi got past Blairmont Community Centre by 75 runs in the other to advance to the final.

Over the years, the two cricket clubs have dominated the game in the Ancient County, and the final on Sunday is expected to be another close encounter. Rose Hall Town Pepsi are expected to be led by national player Kevlon Anderson in his final match at this level, and he would be supported by Junior Sinclair, Jonathan Rampersaud, the in-form Romesh Bharrat, Tyrese Sealey, Ramzan Koobir, Lucas Arthur, and Matthew Pottaya with the bat. The Pepsi team’s bowling attack would be spearheaded by pacers Raj Tika and Anderson, who recently claimed his maiden five-wicket haul against the Leeward Islands in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) 4-day tournament. The spinners in the attack would be off-spinners Sealey, Pottaya, Bharrat and Kulmalchan Ramnaris while left-arm spinners Lucas Arthur and Jeremy Sandia are also vital members of a strong bowling attack.
