BCB to host three trial matches to select U-15 team
The BCB is forging ahead with plans to select the best possible under-15 team for the upcoming GCB inter-county tournament. The BCB started the Tenelec Under-15 countywide tournament with 16 teams, and then invited a total of 56 youths to a special training session with the Junior Selection Committee under the chairmanship of Balram Samaroo at the Rose Hall Canje Ground.
The Berbice U-15 team will be announced on January 30
The next step would be hosting of 3 fifty-over trial matches across the county. The matches would be held in January on Saturday 22nd, Wednesday 26th and Saturday 29th.
The selectors have named three teams along with captains for the trials, which would be played on a competitive basis.
The teams would bear the names of three cricketing legends of the county, and BCB President Hilbert Foster has stated this trend would continue for the rest of the year as the board pays tributes to heroes of the past. The three teams would be John Trim XI, -led by Navin Budhan; Rohan Kanhai XI, led by Ricardo Ramdehol; and Ivan Madray XI, captained by Sohail Mohamed.

All players coming to the trials are asked to walk with their vaccination cards, and are asked to kindly report to the venue by 8.30am with white clothes and cricket gear.
