Beavers FC advanced in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League Qualification Playoffs with a 3-0 win over Queenstown United FC at the National Training Centre (NTC), Providence, East Bank Demerara on Sunday night.
Ezam David opened the scoring in the 39th minute to give Beavers the lead before halftime, but Queenstown managed to stay in the contest for most of the second half. Beavers eventually settled the result late in the match, with Darius Stephen scoring in the 85th minute and Liangel Machin adding another three minutes later.
The result completed a strong showing from Beavers, who were made to work for the victory despite taking the lead in front of the gathering of spectators. Queenstown kept the match competitive for long periods, but Beavers finished strongly to secure their place in the next round.

The playoffs will continue on Wednesday with two fixtures at the same venue. Camptown will face Potaro Strikers from 18:30h, while Timehri United will take on Beavers FC at 20:30h.
The winners of those matches will advance to the playoff final. The winner of the final will qualify directly for the 2026/2027 Elite League season, while the losing finalist will get a second opportunity to qualify through a playoff against Fruta Conquerors, who finished ninth in the previous Elite League campaign.
Mainstay Goldstars FC finished at the bottom of the Elite League table and were relegated.
