The Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest), in collaboration with the Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Development Association (BCCDA) on Friday engaged businesses and entrepreneurs from across Region Six for a strategic forum focused on expanding exports, attracting investment, and accelerating business growth in Berbice. Addressing the gathering, the head of GO-Invest, Peter Ramsaroop, emphasised that the organisation is committed to working directly with businesses across Guyana to unlock new investment opportunities, strengthen productive sectors and prepare more local companies to compete in regional and international markets. He encouraged businesses to capitalise on the Government’s investment-friendly policies by pursuing value-added production, improving quality standards, enhancing packaging and branding and positioning themselves to become export-ready.

The engagement reinforced President Dr Irfaan Ali’s 2030 Vision, which seeks to build a diversified, globally competitive economy driven by production, exports, innovation and private sector growth. Ramsaroop highlighted the President’s vision for the continued expansion of Berbice through transformative investments in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, logistics, and industrial development, positioning Region Six as a major hub for investment, agro-processing, and export-led growth. As Guyana’s national investment promotion agency, GO-Invest continues to facilitate local and foreign investment, promote exports, support business expansion and connect investors and entrepreneurs with the Government services and strategic partners needed to establish, grow, and scale their operations. Through its Investment Charter, GO-Invest remains committed to creating an enabling business environment that encourages innovation, strengthens productive sectors and generates sustainable employment.
Member of Parliament (MP) Zamal Hussain underscored the importance of the Government’s planned Development Bank, noting that expanded access to financing will empower entrepreneurs, manufacturers and small and medium-sized enterprises to invest, expand production, and seize new economic opportunities. In addition, the President of the Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Development Association, Samantha Reid, reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting the business community by fostering entrepreneurship, strengthening collaboration among local enterprises and partnering with GO-Invest to help businesses become investment- and export-ready. The engagement also showcased several GO-Invest success stories, highlighting businesses that have expanded production, secured new investment, entered export markets and created employment with the agency’s support.
These achievements demonstrate the growing competitiveness of Guyanese enterprises and reflect GO-Invest’s continued commitment, under the leadership of Hon. Peter Ramsaroop, to advancing President Ali’s economic vision by building a stronger, more competitive and export-driven economy.
