Berbice looking to remain perfect

Action in round 2 of the ongoing Under-17 inter-county tourney continues on today with defending champs Berbice taking on Demerara while the U15 side will look to rebound when they tackle Essequibo.
The opening round saw Berbice whipping the U15 team by 115 runs after Seon Glasgow hit a majestic 110 with and Nigel Deodat 50. With the form shown by the duo, much could be expected of them come round two. Their bowlers on the other hand were equal to the task as Saif Amoi skipper Jevon Schultz and Deodat were among the wickets.

Demerara showed a bit of toughness as well in their opening game as they disposed of Essequibo by 65 runs after a good all-round performance from Dwain Dick with the ball and Andre Seepersaud with the bat. Both players could likely play key roles on Friday.
The National U15 Select played well but came up short and will want to get things going. They will need Mavendra Dindyal and Revoldo Phillips who showed a bit of form with the bat while Jonathon Rampersaud and Zachary Jodah will be the key with the ball for their side.
Essequibo on the other hand will rely heavily on the likes of Sylvian Williams and national youth star Sheldon Charles who was amongst the wickets in the last match.
Round two’s action will bowl off from 09:30hs.
