Berbice teen nabbed with cocaine, ganja

A 19-year-old male has been arrested by the Police after he was found with 1.1 grams of cocaine and 12 grams of cannabis in his possession during an exercise conducted on the Corentyne Coast on Wednesday.
The operation was conducted at No. 51, No. 62 and Moleson Creek Corentyne, Berbice.

The ganja found during the operations along the ECD

Police have said that ranks swooped down on the home of the teenager at Moleson Creek, Corentyne, Berbice, where they found a transparent glass bottle containing seven small pieces of brown paper with whitish rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine, and fifteen small Ziplock plastic bags containing ganja.
The suspect was told of the offence, cautioned, and taken to the Springlands Police Station, where the cocaine was weighed and amounted to 1.1 grams, while the ganja amounted to 12 grams.
He remains in custody assisting with the investigation.
Meanwhile, in a similar exercise, this time at Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD), Police have found 138 grams of cannabis in an open plot of land.
Reports are that a party of Policemen conducted a cordon-and-search exercise at Splif Street Buxton, ECD, during which a black plastic bag containing several transparent Ziplock bags containing cannabis was found in an un-fenced empty plot of land.

Searches were also conducted at Melanie Market Square, where a quantity of cannabis was also found in an abandoned concrete structure.
The narcotics from the two operations, when weighed, amounted to 138 grams. No one was arrested.
