This circuit race, which is open to cyclists only from Regions Five (Mahaica-Berbice) and Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), would see cyclists assemble in front of the Rainbow Beer Garden on Republic Road and Charles Place, and race towards Coburg Street, into Main Street, and through Stanleytown onto the Tacama Turn at Republic Road for a total of 10 laps.
Prizes would be awarded to the first four finishers in the senior category, the first three veterans, and the top junior rider. Eight sprint prizes would be up for grabs.
Flying Ace Cycling Club President Randolph Roberts has said other big events would be held in Berbice, and those would be open to cyclists countrywide. This race is in collaboration with the Mashramani celebrations in New Amsterdam, while the Arokium Funeral Home, the Jerrick Funeral Home, the Dexter Funeral Home, and the Suresh Business Complex are among the sponsors who have come on board this event.
According to Roberts, this race has been given the green-light by the COVID-19 Task Force.
