DCB/Premier Insurance U15 Inter-Association 2022 tournament: Georgetown continue impressive run

Georgetown have ripped through the Upper Demerara side in the DCB/Premier Insurance U15 Inter-Association 2022 tournament, thereby claiming their third win.

With the blessing of good sunshine, Georgetown won the toss and chose to take first strike, in the process recording a well composed 183 all out from 46.1 overs.
Aside from opener Lomar Seecharran, who scored a formidable 39, the score was supported by contributions from Reyaz Latif, who produced an unbeaten 33; middle order batter Dhanesh Persaud, who chipped in with 27, and captain Dave Mohabir’s 13.
Left-handed fast bowler Dishon Ashby snatched 4 for 29, while Corey Charles and spinner Keron Phillips each collected 2 wickets, for 26 and 34 respectively. Shaukel Fiedtkou claimed 1 for 16.
Upper Demerara struggled in response, and fell for 54 from just 19.1 overs, as pacer Shane Prince clinched 3 for 12 and Johnathan Mentore took 2 for 11; while Darwin La Rose, Kwesi Wilkinson and Joshua Charles each collected a wicket. Georgetown won this match by a convincing 129 runs.
In today’s upcoming game, East Coast will battle West Demerara at Enmore Ground from 9:30 hrs.
