The town of Corriverton will come alive on March 2, Phagwah Day, as one of the biggest concerts will be hosted in celebration of the “festival of colours”. The event is promoted by Price is Right Supermarket and will feature some of the top chutney artistes in Guyana and from Trinidad and Tobago.
Headlining the concert will he reigning Chutney Soca Monarch, Nishard M who is fresh out of the International competition. This will be the first time he will be performing in Guyana after winning the competition.
Also slated to perform is Guyana’s Baboo, Terry Gajraj; De Hitman; Sally Sagram; Vanita; and Bunty Singh. The event will be spruced up with a lively dance piece by the Shelita Dancers. The event is billed for the parking lot of the Classic International Hotel at No 79 Village, Corentyne Berbice.
Admission to the grand Phagwah Mela is absolutely free and gets underway at 14:00h. Lighting and stage is provided by Crown Vibes.
