Timehri J’Ouvert for Saturday

Timehri, on the East Bank of Demerara, will come alive on Saturday evening as the first ever J’Ouvert party is hosted by Steele and One Touch. With this being the first event of this nature, it has been creating quite a buzz.
It will be a kaleidoscope of colours as the event is expected to be one of a kind with the full hype as a Carnival-styled J’Ouvert party. Water will not be an issue as several tanker trucks will be on site. It will be a night of shelling down to the best soca music while at the same time getting soaked.
Several top deejays will be part of the event to ensure everyone has the time of their lives.
All the way from the East Coast of Demerara, Father Moey will take to the console as well as Deejay Akelo from Stereo Sonics but the East Bank’s very own, Silver Star and its crew will turn up the vibes a few notches. In addition, the “Hardball Squad” will be rocking the house down.
Apart from the actual J’Ouvert party, scrumptious Bar-Be-Que will be on sale. The excitement starts at 20:00h.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, February 17, the community will witness its first Costume and Float Parade. The road tramp starts at the Timehri Docks Area and will culminate at Red Ground for a grand wash down.
