Biker dies after losing control of motorcycle

A 40-year-old man lost his life on Sunday evening after he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and fell onto the roadway at Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Dead is 40-year-old Marlon Fiedtkou, of Lot 14 Delph Street, Campbellville, Georgetown. He is also a member of the Sonic Hunters Motorcycle Club.
According to information received, the biker was riding motorcycle CG 3100 at about 17:45h and was proceeding north along the western carriageway of Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara, at a fast rate of speed when he lost control of the motorcycle.
Fiedtkou fell to the ground, where he received injuries about his body. He was picked up in a conscious condition by the police and escorted to the St Joseph Mercy Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a doctor.
He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he was admitted a patient in the Accident and Emergency Unit Critical Bay suffering from punctured lungs and lacerations about his body. He later succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving medical attention.
The man’s body is presently at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
When Guyana Times visited his home, family members declined to speak with the media about the accident. Investigations are ongoing. (G1)
