The two-day championship is expected to attract golfers from across the Caribbean and North America, including Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the United States and Canada, adding an international flavour to one of Guyana’s major golfing events.
Activities will begin with a Grand Opening Cocktail Reception on Friday, October 30, before the golfers take to the course on Saturday and Sunday to compete for championship honours.
The tournament will feature several competitive divisions, including handicap flights of 0–9, 10–18 and 19–28, along with senior and ladies’ categories.
The Lusignan Golf Club has welcomed Brava Solutions’ continued partnership, noting that the company’s support has contributed significantly to the growth and visibility of the tournament over the years.
In a statement, the club recognised the collective contributions of its corporate partners in helping to strengthen the championship.
“Brava’s continued support as title sponsor, together with the contributions of sponsors SLB, Umami, Baker Hughes, Chris Persaud (Tristar), Value4U, Feroze Barakat (Odyssey Tours), Ready Mix, GYSBI, Gulf Engineering and GBTI, has brought structure, energy and visibility to the tournament, helping to elevate the profile of the Guyana Open,” the club stated.
The LGC also highlighted the growing participation of women in the sport, describing the increase as an encouraging development for golf in Guyana.
According to the club, the continued involvement of corporate sponsors, combined with growing regional and international interest, has helped establish the Guyana Open as an important event on the regional golfing calendar.
Beyond the competition, the championship will bring together golfers, business leaders, sponsors and other guests for a weekend of sporting and social activities.
The Lusignan Golf Club has also extended an invitation to members of the public to attend the tournament and support the competitors.
Admission will be free throughout the championship, allowing spectators to experience competitive golf and interact with players and other enthusiasts at the Lusignan venue.
