Brazilian businessman found dead in city guest house
The body of a Brazilian man was discovered in his apartment at a Regent Street, Georgetown guest house on Tuesday. The dead man has been identified as 53-year-old Beto Coutinho.
Though Police have not issued a report on the discovery, Guyana Times understands that the man managed a restaurant at the bottom flat of the hotel.
He was reportedly found dead by relatives in one of the apartments in the guest house at about 15:00h.
According to reports, friends and family decided to check on the man after he was not seen all day and the restaurant was closed. Upon checking, they found the man’s motionless body.
Based on reports, the man had reportedly owed persons sums of monies, and due to this, it is believed that he may have taken his own life. No marks of violence were seen on his body.
An investigation is underway.
